Genesis Homes' Mission Statement
Genesis Homes seeks to facilitate neighborhood revitalization efforts in low-to–moderate income areas in the Upstate of South Carolina through the development of affordable housing for homeownership or home rental. Genesis Homes is addressing Greenville’s need for affordable housing both by constructing quality-crafted homes for rental and ownership by low-income families and the elderly.

Certifications
Genesis Homes is considered a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service.

Genesis Homes has earned Community Housing Development Organization certifications by the following:
  • South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority
  • US Department of Housing and Urban Development
Jim Childress, CEO and Chairman of Genesis Homes, has received certification as a Housing Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council.

In 2008, Genesis Homes was honored as a finalist for the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Max Heller Neighborhood Improvement Award.
